Rosneft may launch Taimyr LNG, Kara LNG in 2030–2035
MOSCOW, Feb 11 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Rosneft may launch its liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects Taimyr LNG and Kara LNG in 2030–2035, Mariya Pirozhkova, chief specialist of the Russian Energy Agency’s research center for the fuel and energy sector, said in a conference on Thursday.
“Rosneft’s Taimyr LNG is being built on the reserves of a well-known project Vostok Oil. Correspondingly, it will be located in the Sever Bay in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Region. Its projected capacity may range from 35 million tonnes to 50 million tonnes, as per preliminary estimate of the company. The launch is expected in 2030–2035 in line with implementation of the Vostok Oil project,” she said.
“The Kara LNG is Rosneft’s another large project near the Novaya Zemlya archipelago. The company estimates its capacity at up to 30 million tonnes, and the launch is scheduled for 2030–2035, when the company starts developing its assets in this region.”
According to Pirozhkova, Yakut Fuel and Energy Company (Yatec) may launch the Yakutsky LNG project in 2026–2027.
